The RMDSZ MEP reminded the audience: the 450th anniversary of the freedom of religion, together with the Unitarian Church was launched this year to emphasize the importance of the church in Europe.

New memorial preserves the heritage of Petőfi in Cristuru Secuiesc

There is a new memorial called Our Petőfi that preserves the heritage of the poet of freedom in Szekelykeresztúr/Cristuru Secuiesc. On July 31, the anniversary day of Sándor Petőfi’s death, this outdoor installation was set up for the public in the courtyard of the Gyárfás mansion. The artwork brings us closer to the stories and legends surrounding the poet’s memory. On the occasion of the Week dedicated to the memory of Petőfi, MEP Csaba Sógor held a festive speech.

Special installations help sharing the stories of King Matthias in Cluj

Special installations, that can also be used as tables and benches tell about the spirit and stories of King Matthias in six public parks of Cluj-Napoca. They were set by Cluj County Youth Forum (KIFOR) for the request of Cluj County Organization of RMDSZ.

Szeklerland still holds many values and treasures

A photo exhibition has been opened in Strasbourg, presenting the szekler traditional crafts, its traditional countryside lifestyle and architectural culture. MEP Csaba Sógor has invited the exhibition of Harghita County Tradition Resource Center to be presented in the closing ceremony event of the European Parliamentary Association.

Hungarian MEPs of the Carpathian Basin commemorated the Rákóczi War of Independence in Șumuleu Ciuc/ Csíksomlyó

The 315th anniversary of the Rákóczi War of Independence was commemorated in Șumuleu Ciuc/ Csíksomlyó after the Pentecost Pilgrimage Holy Mass. Participants from all over the Carpathian Basin brought with them symbolically some ground and placed it in the Rákóczi Memorial,  as a sign of reuniting former Hungarian territories.

David McAllister visited headquarters of Hungarian minority party RMDSZ in Transylvania

"Although the situation of different autochthonous minorities varies extremely in the EU, it would be necessary to create a European legal framework. The European People's Party (EPP) will continue to keep minority protection on the European Union’s agenda" - said German MEP David McAllister on Thursday in Cluj-Napoca.
