Csaba Sógor calls for increased support of multilingualism

DAHR’s MEP Csaba Sógor addressed a letter to Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth. In his letter the MEP saluted the Erasmus for All initiative highlighting the measures that support the use of languages and multilingualism.


EP debate about the direct support schemes to farmers

MEPs debated the common rules for direct support schemes for farmers at the July 3rd plenary session of the European Parliament. The subject was put on the agenda of the plenary after a favourable vote from the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development

Remetea won the Family Friendly Community award

MEP Csaba Sógor presented leaders from Remetea, Romania with DAHR’s Family Friendly Community award on the 2nd of June.  In order to halt the demographic decline discovered after the census of 2011, DAHR started the Cooperation for Hungarian Future movement in the field of family policy last December.  As part of this policy, on the 15th of May, twenty local authorities have been honored for their family friendly actions.


The situation of minority language rights in France and Romania discussed in Strasbourg

The issue of regional and minority language use in France was the main subject of the May 24th meeting of the European Parliament’s Minority Intergroup.

Let’s make Cluj Napoca / Kolozsvár the European Youth Capital for 2015!

The Youth@Kolozsvár 2015 project - Cluj Napoca’s bid for the title of European Youth Capital, along with the initiative itself of  the European Youth Forum  was presented in the European Parliament on Wednesday, the 9th of May at a conference organized by DAHR’s two MEPs,  Csaba Sógor  and Gyula Winkler. The 6th World Parliamentarians’ Convention debates the issue of Tibet

The European Parliament’s “Tibet” intergroup held its 90th meeting on the 24th of April. On this occasion, DAHR’s MEP Csaba Sógor, who is an active member of the intergroup, organized a commemoration of the 170th anniversary of the death of Sándor Kőrösi Csoma in order to promote the cultural heritage of the Hungarian community in Transylvania.
