Transylvanian painters’ exhibition in the European Parliament
Three Transylvanian painters were introduced in the European Parliament on Tuesday, 2 May at an exhibition hosted by RMDSZ MEPs Csaba Sógor and Gyula Winkler. György Katona, Emil Kovács Lajos and Károly Pongrácz's oil paintings not only lead the viewer through the Transylvanian landscapes but also through several big cities of the world.

Superficial and erroneous findings about the Hungarian education in Romania in an EP study - Sógor Csaba requests corrections
The latest research on minority languages and education commissioned by the European Parliament draws several erroneous conclusions regarding the Hungarian education in Romania. According to Csaba Sógor the most unrealistic one is that the most important achievement of the Hungarian native language education in Romania is that students who graduate can obtain jobs in Hungary.

Csaba Sógor in the EP: The report of the US State Department criticises minority protection in Romania
The US State Department’s annual Country Report on Human Rights brings serious criticism to Romania in regards to the situation of the Hungarian minority – pointed out MEP Csaba Sógor during the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg. In the opinion of the RMDSZ MEP, president Klaus Johannis’s statement, according to which Romania is a model state in terms of minority protection, is simply unrealistic.

The Gyarmathy scholarships were awarded
On Friday, 10th of March the 14th Gyarmathy scholarships were awarded during a ceremony held at Kalotaszentkirály-Zentelke. The students of the Gyarmathy school prepared a small festive programme, at the beginning of which director of the Ady Endre Elementary School and mayor Póka András held opening speeches.

Conference on the importance of education in the mother tongue
MEPs Andrea Bocskor, Andor Deli, Pál Csáky and Csaba Sógor organized a conference entitled Mother tongue vs state language - language issues in the European education systems on the 7th of March in the European Parliament. The opening speech was held by European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Navracsics Tibor, who pointed out during the speech: „Culture and language are bound together, and mother tongue education ensures the survival and prosperity of autochtonous national minorities in their homeland."
