The oeuvre of Sándor Makkai, presented in a travelling exhibition
The Reformed Church in Buda was the setting for the opening of the exhibition about the oeuvre of Sándor Makkai on the 4th of December. According to plans, the exhibition will travel throughout Transylvania too, in order to promote the religious, literary and public work of the Hungarian Bishop and writer from Transylvania, within and beyond the borders of Hungary.
Five Hungarian MEPs raised awareness about the situation of the actor from Slovakia whose citizenship has been revoked
Five Hungarian speaking MEPs – Edit Bauer, Kinga Gál, Alajos Mészáros, Csaba Sógor and László Tőkés spoke at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Brussels on the 30th of November about the situation of Olivér Boldoghy, whose citizenship has been revoked by the Slovakian Ministry of Interior after it became known that he received the citizenship of another EU member state, Hungary.
Tibet's autonomy aspirations discussed in the EP
The Tibet Intergroup and the South-Asian Delegation of the European Parliament co-organized a conference about the subject of the Tibetan autonomy on the 29th of November in the European Parliament.
Winners of the WEBcastle competition will travel to Brussels
The Seneschals of the Teleki-castle from Gornesti and the Henchmen of the Daniel-castle from Talisoara received invitation to Brussels from DAHR’s MEP Csaba Sógor, as a reward for their achievements in the WEBcastle competition. The contest ended on the 26th of November with an award ceremony and a castle day in the Bethlen-castle in Cris.
The European Charlemagne Youth Prize in 2011
The European Charlemagne Youth Prize is awarded jointly and annually by the European Parliament and the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen. The Prize is awarded to young Europeans, who enable projects that facilitate the exchange of cultural experience and a better understanding of each other’s culture.
Unveiling the statue of Ernő Fábián in Covasna
More than one hundred people gathered in the central park in Covasna to commemorate Ernő Fábián, the well known writer passed away ten years ago. A statue was erected in his honor with the occasion of the jubilee on Friday, the 18th of November.
EP debate about the situation of the Roma in Europe
MEPs discussed the situation of the Roma in the member states of the European Union during the plenary session of the European Parliament on the 16th of November. Representative of the Polish Presidency at the Council and secretary of state in charge of equality of chances El¿bieta Radziszewska and Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Androulla Vassiliou attended the meeting to answer MEP’s questions.
Recognition of differences and intercultural dialogue through the European Heritage Label
The European Parliament vote with a vast majority on the 16th of November the establishment of the European Heritage Label, which is meant to shorten the distance between the European Union and its citizens. The initiative is basically an elevation of some intergovernmental programs to the EU level.

DAHR’s MEP Csaba Sógor called attention upon the paradox of the Romanian restitution process during the opening debates of the European Parliament’s plenary session on the 14th of November.
The tenth annual Csángó Day in Miercurea Ciuc
The event promoting Csángó culture has reached its tenth annual edition in Miercurea Ciuc. Its theme was the Hungarian literature in Moldova, given the 100th anniversary of the birth of the first well known Csángó poet, Demeter Lakatos. At the event, MEP Csaba Sógor presented a publication he mentored about the situation of the Csángós in Moldova entitled „We like to live here”.
