The Protestant Theological Institute of Cluj Napoca organized a conference entitled European Cultural Treasure and Native Tongue Liturgy between the 8th and the 10th of April, 2011 on the occasion of the 375th anniversary of the publication of the Old Gradual.

The series of debates initiated by DAHR’s MEP Csaba Sógor entitled European Discussion Nights continued with new presentations. The guest of the evening was FIDESZ’s MEP Ádám Kósa, who spoke about „New perspectives in the EU’s policy regarding people with disabilities” on the 31st of March in Sf. Gheorghe and on the 1st of April in Cluj.

The people of Baciu, Cluj County, commemorated the Hungarian revolution of 1848-49 on the 12th of March. DAHR president Hunor Kelemen and MEP Csaba Sógor also attended the celebration on the 163rd anniversary of the Hungarian nation’s most important freedom fight. The commemoration featured the concert of the 140 member strong Children’s philharmonic orchestra from Vlãhiţa.

DAHR’s MEP Csaba Sógor held a presentation entitled European Politics and Christianity in the 21st century at the Reformed Student Home in Odorheiu Secuiesc on the 5th of March, 2011.

As guest speaker of the Mikó Imre Law and Economics College, MEP Csaba Sógor spoke about the current issues of the European Union, including Romania’s and Bulgaria’s accession into the Schengen Area.

The Németh Géza Association from Miercurea Ciuc has founded the Németh Géza Commemorative Prize in 2000 with the intent of honoring teachers and their pupils who contribute to the preservation of Hungarian culture through their work. The prizes, also supported by MEP Csaba Sógor, are awarded on the Day of Hungarian Culture each year.

The series of events entitled European Discussion Nights, initiated by DAHR’s MEP Csaba Sógor arrived at its second edition. Organized once again at the Járosi Andor  Christian Cultural Workshop, the program’s guest was MEP Dr. György Schöpflin, who delivered a speech entitled „Hungarian country Image: constitution, media law, Hungarian in Diaspora”.

The Hungarian Christian-Democrat Movement from Romania (RMKDM) held its third Congress on December 10th 2010 in Covasna. As a member of DAHR’s most powerful platform, MEP Csaba Sógor also attended the meeting where the new leadership of the Movement was elected and its program was modified.

This the first year when the Christian Diakonia Foundation from Sfântu Gheorghe gives awards to artists with disabilities. There were 115 entries to the contest promoted throughout Transylvania; all of these have been placed on exposition since December 10th 2010 in the Foundation’s Iris House.
