Csaba Sógor: Beside the mourning of the past we must also work on building our future

On National Solidarity Day a commemoration was organized on the 7th June in Săcueni (Bihor county). At the event hosted by the local community Csaba Sógor RMDSZ MEP held a speech, in which he emphasized the importance of not just mourning the past, but also of working on building the future as well.

The exhibition on the Szeklers of Bukovina can also be seen at Zăbala

The Völgységi Museum of Bonyhád’s exhibition entitled “With my head held high - szeklers of Bukovina in Hungary - 1941-2011” was opened on Sunday at the Csángó Ethnographical Museum of Zăbala. The exhibition was earlier presented at the Fészek Tájház Museum in Siculeni, the Csíki Székely Museum in Miercurea-Ciuc and the Kriza János Ethnographic Society in Cluj-Napoca.

Csaba Sógor: The development of the Hungarian communities in Romania is our common mission

An informational forum was organised on Thursday, the 9th of April, on rural development with European funds in Satu-Mare. The participants discussed the upcoming calls for projects available for local administrations from the Agriculture and Rural Development Fund. The event was organised by MEP Csaba Sógor and the Satu-Mare County organisation of the RMDSZ in partnership with RegioConsult Investment and Management Advisory Company.

Ancient fortress ruins to be explored at Racu

The local administration of Racu (Harghita County) organised a meeting on Friday, February 20th to discuss a dig at the site of a historically and archeologically important fortress situated near the settlement. The mayor of the town and MEP Csaba Sógor took the initiative to organise the meeting attended by archaeologist István Botár, who presented the history of the fortress and specialist Szabolcs Fazakas, who stressed the touristic potential and the opportunities it would have for the community.

Csaba Sógor: Romania must prepare for the new EU cohesion policy framework

Calls for project proposals out of the Agriculture and Rural Development Fund, soon to be available for local administrations, were presented to the mayors of Covasna County. The event entitled Rural development with European Union funds, which took place on the 19th of February was organised at the initiative of MEP Csaba Sógor in partnership with the RegioConsult Management and Investment Advisory Company and the territorial organisation of the RMDSZ.

Working weekend for Csaba Sógor’s trainee-candidates

Between the 14th and 16th of November in Sânvăsii the European Union's immigration, family, and employment policies were debated on by young applicants, who competed for a one-month internship position in the Brussels and Strasbourg office of RMDSZ MEP Csaba Sógor.

Fifteen years of architectural education in Miercurea Ciuc

The Nagy István Art High School of Miercurea Ciuc presented 15 years of architectural education in photographs. The school is also celebrating its students currently present at the Venice Biennale. The exposition sponsored by RMDSZ MEP Csaba Sógor was opened on the 28th of October and can be seen by the public in the windows of the movie theatre and the

Exposition at the Fészek Tájház Museum

A new exhibition has been opened in the vicinity of the Siculicidum monument, at the  Fészek Tájház Museum in Siculeni, diplaying photographs of Gyula Ádám illustrating the life of the Csángó people in Romania.

On the constitutional limits of EU integration

“We need to push the constitutional limits of European Union integration. We need to use every legal tool at our disposal and with the coordinated work of the political and nongovernmental organisations we need to stop the double standards used to deal with minority protection issues”, said MEP Csaba Sógor Friday, on the 25th of July at Tușnad. Enikő Győri, secretary of state for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations, and Hungarian MEP from Slovakia Pál Csáky were also present at the discussion moderated by editor in chief of Heti Válasz, Gábor Borókai.
