Szekler hussars greeted the guests at this year’s Hungarian Ball in Brussels, their presence at the event being sponsored by DAHR’s MEP Csaba Sógor. Aside admiring the hussars highly decorated germents, the guests of the event had the possibility of trying them on.

Csaba Sógor also placed a Szekler flag in the EP’s plenary hall at the last plenary session of the EP in Strasbourg. The MEP received the flag from the Harghita County Council. – In these moments, Europe turns with empathy towards us, so we must show the Hungarian cultural values and Szeklerland’s diversity – said the Hungarian MEP from Transylvania, who has promoted Szekler specialties, like the Szekler potato and mineral waters, in Brussels on several occasions.

The MEP also stated that during the Hungarian Presidency, specific Hungarian recepies have been added to the EP’s restaurant’s menus, so the staff of the Parliament already had the chance to taste the famous Szekler cabbage.
