The 500th anniversary of the Reformation was celebrated in Brussels
The 500th anniversary of the Reformation was celebrated in Brussels with a Transylvanian event-series. MEP Csaba Sógor, representative of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania invited the choir of the Protestant Theological Institute of Cluj-Napoca to perform in the capital of Europe. An exhibition on the Reformation in Central and Eastern Europe made by the pupils of Lórántffy Zsuzsa Reformed High School was also presented.
In the beginning of this summer Csaba Sógor and the Transylvanian Christian Youth Asociation (IKE) announced a competition in Romania for Hungarian pupils and their mentors. The task was to present the history of the Reformation as vividly, interactively and creatively as possible. Collegium Varadiensis of Lórántffy Zsuzsa Reformed High School (Oradea, Romania) won the competition. The pupils were guided by Zoltán Szakács. The office of MEP Csaba Sógor coordinated the making of the bilingual exhibition entitled Reformation in Central and Eastern Europe. The panels help understand the Reformation’s past 500 years through the most important Hungarian, Czech and Polish events and present the history of the Evengalical, Unitarian and Sekler Sabbatarian religions. As part of the exhibition a short film was screened presenting the most important events of Transylvanian Reformation’s past 500 years.
