The prestigious Vox Humana Chamber Choir in Brussels
The prestigious Hungarian chamber choir from Transylvania, Vox Humana performed in Brussels upon the invitation of MEP Csaba Sógor. On Sunday, September 11th, the ensemble from Sepsiszentgyörgy/Sfântu Gheorghe sang works by important Hungarian composers at the Hungarian Catholic Mission in the capital of Belgium.
The highly attended event began with an ecumenical mass held by pastors Havas István and Csaba Sógor. "Being a Christian means knowing what our mission is in our families, in the church, in our countries and here in Europe. We always have work to do; we cannot live only off the merits of our past" – said Csaba Sógor. The Transylvanian politician considers that part of his duty in the capital of Europe is to make sure people in Brussels know the values of the Hungarian people from Romania, and also that he brings a piece of Brussels, a piece of Europe back to Transylvania.
Founded in 1972, the Vox Humana Chamber choir has 35 members and its conductor is Zsolt Szilágyi. The ensemble received several prestigious awards among which the Hungarian Order of Merit awarded to their conductor in 2013.
