MEP Csaba Sógor welcomed a delegation from Satu Mare County in Brussels
Csaba Sógor, who has family ties to Satu Mare County, stated that: „It was important for me to invite the delegation from Satu Mare County because they did especially well last year in the EP-elections. I hereby thank the Hungarians living in Satu Mare County for their exemplary role in the success of the Hungarian Solidarity in Transylvania. I feel it is important for the voters to meet their representative here in the European Parliament so they can get a better view of the work being done here”.
In this respect, Gergely Polner, a functionary of the EP made a presentation about the mechanisms of the Parliament and István Perger, the Hungarian press officer for the EP presented the particularities of community informational systems. The day ended with the concert of pianist Beáta Burkáló and the Concordia string quartet. The artists from Transylvania and Ukrainian Subcarpathia played music from the works of Hungarian composers Bartók, Liszt and Kodály. The event was part of the commemoration ceremonies organized for the anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848-49. On the last day of the visit the group took part at the closing event of the commemorations, the placing of wreaths at the commemorative plaque of Miklós Jósika.
