The competition entitled My Transylvanian Trips encouraged students from Brașov/Brassó county to discover their surrounding region. MEP Csaba Sógor, member of the Romanian Parliament, Izabella Ambrus together with the RMDSZ organization and Youth Council in Brașov county organized the competition that attracted 66 students from 9 locations.

The winners were awarded during an event organized in the Áprily Lajos National College on 20 April. The best candidates were invited to visit the Romanian Parliament in Bucharest by MP Izabella Ambrus, whereas MEP Csaba Sógor offered students a two day trip to visit the European Parliament in Brussels.

The inspiration for the competition organized for V-XII. grade students, came from MEP Csaba Sógor’s  exhibition entitled Encounters - Hungarian travellers and explorers. “The ten travellers included in the exhibition were driven by full openness and a strong desire to explore and to discover, I hope that we passed on something from that to you through the exhibition” - explained the MEP.
