Within the series of events organized by the Jósika Miklós Grammar School at Turda, with the occasion of the day of the high school, a competition took place on the 14th of May. The guest of honor at the opening of the competition between schools was Sógor Csaba, Member of the European Parliament (MEP).

The Jósika Miklós Grammar High School organized in between 13-16 May a series of programmes lasting four days in order to celebrate the day of the school. Within the series of events many competitions, sporting activities and cultural programmes were organized for the students and teachers (of the high school). On the 14th of May, at two o’clock, the competition called “Europe – our common house” took place, which urged participants to get acquainted with the European spirit, the diversity of cultures and languages as well as with ethnic tolerance.

In his opening speech, Sógor Csaba declared that for him, Europe – our common house means learning from each other. - It is worth learning from each other all that is good and a positive example, as a common house needs common knowledge. Events of this kind offer exceptional opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and for a better mutual understanding – stressed the MEP.

As Sógor Csaba said, in these highly competitive days, the young can become winners only if they have the adequate knowledge to stand up to difficulties. The DAHR’s MEP has also mentioned the positive example of Jósika Miklós, after whom the school was named: Jósika Miklós spoke six languages, was a writer, politician and Brussels lobbyist and besides  taking care of his family, he was exceptionally preoccupied with the fate of all Hungarians.
