Family Weekend in the Kossuth Gardens in Satu Mare
The contest lasted several hours on Saturday with the families having to participate at eleven trials requiring dexterity, speed and wits. By Sunday, only three families were in contest: the Boras, the Fülöps and the Vargas. To win the big prize, they had to perform a musical number. The audience and the jury decided that the Fülöp family was the best; as a result they can travel to Brussels on a trip offered by MEP Csaba Sógor. The prize was handed to the family by the MEP himself.
Csaba Sógor and the Fülöp Family
DAHR’s MEP Csaba Sógor said that June 4th is the day when we remember the Hungarian families torn apart ninety years ago by the Treaty of Trianon, but on the 6th we celebrate the possibility to have our families together in Satu Mare. – In the past ninety years not even state borders were able to keep us apart. Us politicians constantly work for Hungarians from Transylvania and Hungary come together – he said.
The MEP congratulated the contenders during the awards ceremony and stated that anyone taking part in this competition is well versed in the trials of everyday life. “I believe that this competition helps us enjoy and help each other in our work and studies” – said Csaba Sógor.
