2012-11-09

The second edition of the online competition WEBcastle ended on 7 November. Its goal was to offer information on the state of Transylvanian castles, to introduce them in the touristic circuit and to strengthen the link between the public and the castles.

During this week the last two trials were uploaded on the competition’s webpage. The results of the trials can be seen here: http://webkastely.transindex.ro/?eredmenyek.

The last trial of the contest required the teams to make an eight page comic book on their castle describing a significant event that took place there.

Based on both the jury’s and the public’s votes, the comic book written by the „The Pages of the Daniels from Tãlişoara (Olaszteleki Danielek apródjai)” earned most votes, they are the leaders with 60 points. The second position was won by two teams with 60 points: „The Mikó Courtiers (Mikó Udvaroncok)” and „The Green Knights (Zöld Lovagok)”. „The Urmánczy Castle Scouts (Cserkészek az Urmánczy kastélyért)” were granted the third position with 54 points. The scoreboard can be seen on the official website of the contest: www.webkastely.ro.

Summing up the five weeks of research, adventure and fun, it can be said that everybody won and earned new experiences. However, the ranking had to be made and we now have the final results of the contest! The Pages of the Daniels from Tãlişoara stand on the first step of the podium with 323 points. They are followed by The Green knights with 303 points on the second step and by the The Mikó Courtiers with 302 points on the third step.

The final scoreboard can be seen here: http://webkastely.transindex.ro/?eredmenyek_o.

The first two teams earned a trip to Brussels financed by MEPs Csaba Sógor and Gyula Winkler, where their members are awaited by new adventures.

The organising team thanks the participants for their effort, and urges everybody to take part in the next WEBcastle contest and not to forget their cultural heritage and, part of it, the castles.
