During his visit to Satu Mare on 16 November Csaba Sógor, member of the European Parliament pledged his support for the local DAHR candidates for the national parliamentary elections.

The MEP accompanied Gábor Kereskényi and Csaba Pataki, candidates for Senate in the 5th and 2nd electoral district from Satu Mare, on their visit at the main market of the town.

„In order to carry out our work it is essential to go from house to house and discuss with people, and not just during electoral campaigns. To listen to people’s problems and to ask for their opinions is worth more than any message transmitted through the media. We know what we have to do if the people who trust us told us their problems and needs”, declared the Hungarian MEP from Transylvania.

Gábor Kereskényi added: „One cannot get to know the problems of the people just sitting at one’s desk. I intend to represent the people in the Parliament, thus it is essential for me to know the problems they face. Unfortunately there are many unresolved issues of which one can hear about only by meeting with the people.”
„I was never afraid of discussing face to face with people”, said senator-candidate Csaba Pataki. „The importance of personal meetings is also proven by the fact that, even today, we heard of land restitution problems, which we may resolve even before the elections”, added Pataki.

During his visit from Satu Mare the MEP also met with DAHR’s county councillors, with Árpád Szabolcs Csehi, the vicepresident of the Satu Mare County Council and the other parliamentary election candidates of DAHR, Csaba Maskulik, Piroska Szász, D. István Erdei and Sándor Balogh. Sógor advised the candidates to be humble during and after the campaign alike, as earning and keeping the trust of the people is a weighty task for all.
