Winners of the Face of Transylvania 2010 Beauty Contest will travel to Brussels
Winners of the Face of Transylvania 2010 Beauty Contest have been elected this weekend. While the most beautiful girl from Transylvania travels to Cyprus, her maids of honor were offered the chance to visit the European Parliament in Brussels.
The third edition of the Face of Transylvania beauty contest took place in the Vigadó Cultural Centre in Tg. Secuiesc. The public attending the final on September 10, 2010 met the 12 finalists chosen from over 700 contestants in the six previous rounds. The girls strolled confidently on the catwalk, first in street clothes, than in bathing suites and finally in evening gowns. The twelve member jury rated the girl’s intelligence as well as their good looks due to the fact that amongst the finalists one could find students from international relations, management, social sciences and law universities.
Evelyn Bereczki from Oradea was crowned queen of the pageant She has also proven herself on the catwalks of Milan and Shanghai. Csilla Jánó from Miercurea Ciuc came in second and Krisztina Takács from Oradea was third. The maid of honor of this year’s Face of Transylvania will take part on a trip to Brussels on behalf of MEP Csaba Sógor. The girls will travel to the European capital this fall with the winners of the International Hungarian Mathematics contest.
According to MEP Csaba Sógor, beauty contests are popular all around the world because beauty is a value worth showing to the world. „The winner of a beauty contest will go to many places and will take her of community’s culture and values with her. Therefore it is very important that beauty is paired with intelligence” – said the MEP who considers that the visit to Brussels will not only be a vacation, but it will contribute to the broadening of the maids of honor’s knowledge about the European Union.
