Csaba Sógor's campaign-2009
On Saturday morning, European parliamentary candidate Csaba Sógor
participated in the "Teleki Days" series of events, held in Nagybánya
[Baia Mare].
In the morning a historical conference and book presentation was held
in the Teleki Hungarian Community Centre, where Sógor - after greeting
those present - said that as a politician he is following the progress
of the "Teleki Téka" library with great interest. Beyond simply
observing, he also revealed that he had been invited to give a
presentation regarding the institution to the European Parliament's
Committee on Culture and Education in Brussels.
The Hungarian community in Transylvania aims to have the Teleki Téka library granted UNESCO World Heritage status in recognition of its rank as an institution. "The resources of the Teleki library, in the tradition of serving the community through books, represent an invaluable intellectual heritage that undeniably connects us with Europe, and of which we can justifiably be proud," said Sógor in Nagybánya on Saturday morning.
