The employees of the Remetea village’s local authority together with the finalists of the WEBcastle competition went on a study trip to Bruxelles. The two groups were rewarded by MEP Csaba Sógor for their work and achievements.

The local authority of Remetea won the Family Community award in 2012, granted as part of the Cooperation for a Hungarian Future family policy project. The local authority invested around 2 million lei in family support projects in 2012. The town leaders operate the home patient care and the village service systems as a priority, they support those who live with disabilities, invest in health care development, run family supporting projects and focus on improving the quality of education. Csaba Sógor, member of the DAHR’s Family Policy Workgroup has awarded the employees of this local authority with a trip to Brussels, which gave them the opportunity to better understand how the European Parliament works and experience the multiculturalism of the European capital.

The WEBcastle competition was relaunched two years ago and is a part of the Transylvanian Castle project of the PONT group.  This is an online competition that aims to disseminate information on the situation of Transylvanian castles. It is meant to enhance the touristic potential of these castles and to bring them to life with community help.  DAHR MEP Csaba Sógor joined the project two years ago and motivated the participants by awarding the finalists a study trip to Brussels. The Keepers of the Teleki Castle from Gornești team won the trip to the European capital in 2010, while this year’s winners were the Green Knights of the Dániel Castle from Vârghiș.

“Every group that works for the community deserves this study trip. I hope that each person who comes here, sees how we work and experiences the feeling of this city will take home a slice of this multiculturalism”, said DAHR MEP Csaba Sógor.
