The European Parliament expressed its concern Thursday, 13 November in relation to the recent developments of the peace process in Northern Ireland. The resolution adopted on the 13th of November by the members of the EP calls for improving inter-community relations and continuing the peace process.

Romanian citizens should also enjoy visa free travel
Csaba Sógor stood up for the enforcement of the European visa policy principles in the European Parliament. The RMDSZ MEP stated that the EU is not yet able to enforce existing visa policy principles included in the regulations in force since January 2014, as the Romanian, Polish, Croatian and Cypriot citizens still need to apply for a visa when travelling to the United States of America, Canada or Australia.

Europe 2020: EP calls for a stronger control of the Commission over the member states’ commitments
The European Parliament demands immediate reporting on the member states’ results in the implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy. On Wednesday, 22 October MEPs accepted a report on the European Semester regarding economic policy measures, which states that several commitments the member states have agreed to in the Europe 2020 Strategy were not met.

Csaba Sógor's exhibition on Hungarian explorers presented in Slovenia
Csaba Sógor met with Hungarian minority leaders from Slovenia and the Hungarian ambassador in Ljubljana to discuss the situation of the Hungarian communities in Romania and Slovenia. The Hungarian MEP from Transylvania arrived in Slovenia on the 16th of October for the opening of his exhibition on Hungarian explorers entitled Encounters.

National minority rights among the priorities of the European People’s Party for 2014-2019
The European People’s Party (EPP) has included the protection of traditional national and linguistic minority rights among the priorities of its 2014-2019 strategy. The members of the largest MEP group met between the 16th and the 19th of June in Portugal. The RMDSZ MEPs were also present at the event.
